Debbie Katz

Debbie (she/her) is a Talent Consultant at DRG. She brings twenty years of experience in research, journalism, foundation, and board service to her work. A former broadcast journalist and TV producer, she draws on a variety of investigative and interviewing techniques to delve deeper with clients, identify organizational gaps and needs, and find great candidates that others can’t.

Debbie has successfully recruited top talent for a broad array of nonprofits in the social service, advocacy, faith-based, university, education, and cultural spaces. She is known for attracting top fundraising talent, tackling “out-of-the box” searches, and building diverse candidate pools that reflect her clients’ values and the communities they serve.

Curiosity is Debbie’s compass. In addition to her work with a private family office foundation, she spent several years in a research lab studying stereotyping and prejudice, lived in India helping a microfinance NGO right the ship, has backpacked all over the world, and held a short stint writing jokes for Comedy Central. She serves on several organizational boards and lives in Manhattan with her husband, three wonderful daughters, and their beloved pet fish.
